OB SPORTS GOLF & LEISURE x FALL 2016 x obsports.com l LESSON TEE TRAINING DAYS n GET YOUR GAME IN SHAPE WITH THESE 4 TOOLS T ime and lack of facilities can challenge even the most avid golfer when it comes to improving and grooving your swing through practice. That's where these four training aids can help. From the full swing to the putter, each of these tools pinpoints one or more facets of your game. The key, of course, is making the effort. So set aside a few minutes each day during the week to work on these drills. We can't make any promises, but you'll likely enjoy the results during your weekend rounds. THE ORANGE WHIP TRAINER How it works: By integrating a very whippy shaft with a counter- weighted ball on the end, the Orange Whip promotes a more natural swing motion – which increases power. Use it in your garage or the back yard for 5 to 10 minutes of training time a day, and you will enhance flexibility, strength, coordination and, most impor- tantly, tempo. The payoff: With regular use, the Or- ange Whip Trainer will help provide noticeable improvements in your golf swing such as increased suppleness, more power and better balance. SKLZ POWER POSITION SWING TRAINER How it works: Most amateurs lose energy transfer during the downswing by casting the golf club too early, robbing them of dis- tance. The SKLZ Power Position Swing Trainer helps get the hands into what top golf instructors call the "power positions" during the swing, teaching you how to load and release the club for greater distance and improved accuracy. The payoff: The weighted device is great for strengthening key golf muscles, the dual-colored barrel keeps your swing on plane and the molded training grip teaches proper hand placement on the club. SWING WIZZARD How it works: Taking practice swings with this long, two-headed club helps improve your swing plane. Due to its design, the Swing Wizzard forces you to hinge your wrists at the proper spot at the top of the backswing, and then teaches you how to get your hands for- ward at impact, which is critical to proper ball striking and power. The payoff: The Swing Wizzard helps you identify your plane throughout the swing, trains your mus- cles to get the club into the proper impact posi- tion and helps build a repeatable swing. DAVE PELZ'S PUTTING TRACK How it works: Dave Pelz's Putting Track helps groove the perfect motion for your stroke whether you use a straight back, straight- through stroke or an arc motion. The Putting Track also helps estab- lish ideal eye position while standing over the ball at address, and grooves alignment and motion to your intended target. The payoff: The key to a better putting stroke is to practice a perfect putting stroke. This device ensures your eyes are positioned correctly at address, then helps you groove a silky smooth pendulum stroke.
