than they appear."
With those generous fairways, and at a manageable
length of 6,514 yards from the back tees, golfers should be

"The key is keeping the ball in play the best you can,"
Carper said. "The course does play easier if you can find
the fairway off the tee."
Mill Creek winds through much of the course, and
water does come into play on several holes, including the
signature 150-yard, par-3 ninth hole, which plays over a
large pond in front of the green.
"Each hole is unique and presents its own challenge,"
he said. "We have a beautiful and stimulating layout that
will test golfers of all levels."
Members bought the club in 2007 and a
makeover of the course ensued, including
clearing out overgrown areas, improving
drainage and adding new tee boxes. And Mill
Creek is currently in the midst of a greenside
bunker renovation. The maintenance crew is
also eliminating fairway grass bunkers and contouring
the areas for better playability, Carper said.
Mill Creek also has very active men's and women's
clubs, and the clubhouse hosts theme night dinners, wine
and beer tastings, a family holiday brunch and much more.
"Our dining facilities offer a great setting, personal
service and a unique menu," Carper said. "We have sev-
eral spaces for private events, along with outdoor seating
for those warm summer nights."
