6 THINGS TO DO SoCal GOLF INSIDER 1 TEST YOUR SKILLS AND COMPETE IN THE 2016 OC AMATEUR AT MONARCH BEACH Monarch Beach Golf Links is hosting the 2016 OC Amateur on September 17-18. Entry fees include two rounds of golf, cart, boxed lunch, a dozen golf balls and prizes. Cost is $275 for Crown Club members and $295 for non-members. Round 1 is on Saturday, September 17, and Round 2 is on Sunday, September 18, with 12 p.m. split tee times off No. 1 and No. 10. Entry is limited to the first 96 participants, and walk-in practice rounds are available for entrants for $50 up to one month in advance of the tournament on Mondays-Thursdays anytime or Fridays and Sun- days after 1 p.m. CLICK HERE for more information, or call (949) 248-3001. 2 WILD, WILD WEST On Saturday, August 27, play in the Western Shootout at The Vineyard at Escondido, where a friendly golf tournament meets Western BBQ. The entry fee is $69, which in- cludes green fees, cart with GPS, range balls, contests, prizes, dinner and drink tick- ets. Call the pro shop at (805) 530-0221 to reserve your spot, and show up by 12:30 p.m. for first tee off at 1 p.m. Monarch Beach Golf Links is set to host the 2016 OC Amateur Tournament in September.
