HOW TO GUIDE
3 STEPS TO A
GREAT EVENT
I
f you've been put in charge of
a group golf outing or charity
tournament, there's no need to
panic. A solid game plan is just
a few simple steps away…
1. Ask for help. Reach out to
The Course's golf professionals
to seek their input and to help
you map out a good strategy to
achieve your goals.
2. Teamwork. Organize and
spread around the responsibili-
ties. Detail timelines to keep
everyone on track. Make sure
you also communicate with the
golf course how many players
you are expecting so they can
plan according to best accom-
modate your group.
3. Communication. The most
important aspect here is getting
the word out for the event.
Nowadays, there are several
electronic means to spread the
word. Facebook posts, tweets,
Outlook invitations and E-vites
are a few of the ways to reach
your target audience.

group events and tournaments because
it offers the whole package, from cater-
ing and merchandise credits to bever-
age cart service and customized contest
signage. The Course can even arrange
to set up a mobile pro shop with a
client's favorite golf merchandise, so
guests can peruse and shop in between
event happenings.
"We have one of the top courses in
the state and the country, Wente Vine-
yards is one of the longest-owned fam-
ily vineyards, and we have award-
winning catering onsite through The
Restaurant," said Jones. "Groups of all
sizes can pick and choose which serv-
ices of ours they'd like to use based on
their budget and event goals, and we
can work with them to achieve those
goals. It really is a one-stop shop."
The Course at Wente Vineyards has
extensive experience hosting events of
all types and sizes. Groups gathering
for family reunions and bachelor par-
ties of even 10 people can enjoy a fun
day on the course followed by an inti-
mate dinner, and corporate groups and
charities of up to 1,000 people can host
a large-scale tournament with exquisite
catering to match.
Jones recommends that no matter the
size and scope of an event, group and
tournament organizers should first de-
cide on their budget and priorities.
"Once guests have decided on a
budget and determined what their
event priorities are going to be – from
raising money or just having fun to ap-
preciating clients and vendors – we can
help them meet their goals," he said.
