l DESTINATIONS OB SPORTS GOLF & LEISURE x SUMMER 2016 x obsports.com While the course is challenging enough for scratch golfers, it's also enjoyable for weekend duffers. Though a private club, guests at the resort can play for $295, in- cluding a cart. Forecaddies cost $40 per player with a cart, $85 for a single-bag walking, and $65 for double-bag walking. But regardless of your skill level, you'll be astonished by the natural ambience and the pristine conditions. And since the property includes 1,000 acres of environ- mentally preserved land, there is nothing but open space around you. No CordeValle experience is complete without at least one night at the Rosewood Resort. It only offers 45 rooms, but each in- cludes luxury accommodations with stellar service. The rooms are divided into 550-square-foot guest rooms, 750-square-foot bungalows, 1,100-square-foot suites, and 3,100-square-foot fairway homes, each featuring four master bedrooms. The resort is augmented by an impressive art collection, including sculp- tures and paintings. The Resort's Sense Spa is a 5,000-square- foot full-service spa that integrates North- ern Californian herbs, plants and minerals into many of its treatments. Whether your interest is a facial, massage or another treatment, all are personalized for your needs and desires. An 85-acre working vineyard and win- ery adjacent to the resort adds to the relax- ing ambiance. Guests can savor some of the wines cultivated in the vineyard, as well as take tours of the vineyard and enjoy the amazing views from the wine- tasting room. Other amenities include a tennis center, a health and fitness center and, for those who want some bipedal off-roading, ac- cess to two hiking trails: the Vineyard Run, a three-mile round-trip flat-level running trail; and the CordeValle Loop Trail, a 2.3- mile trek with a few hills, great views and even several yoga decks scattered through the trail. In early July, CordeValle will host the 2016 U.S. Women's Open. And while the property has hosted prestigious profes- sional tournaments in the past, including the PGA Tour's Frys.com Open, top ama- teur events and elite collegiate tourna- ments, the U.S. Open is The U.S. Open. It will raise the awareness of this already incredibly regarded golf course and resort to its highest level yet.
