layout and conditions make it one of the finest in the region.
"The course works its way through the legendary north
woods and there is a sense of intimacy as few holes are bor-
dered by others," Payne said. "There are significant elevation
changes, which is surprising given the surrounding topogra-
phy is relatively flat. Also, the course has five par 3s and five
par 5s, which adds to the diversity and fun of the layout."
And while golf is the centerpiece, members and their fami-
lies enjoy more from the club than excellent conditions, a su-
perior layout and high-end amenities. One of the primary
perks is the club's location in Harbor Springs and
access to all of Northern Michigan.
"The area has so much to offer," Payne said. "It
makes it that much more fun for the members and
their families to have options of experiences. We're
all very proud of True North and this Harbor
Springs area, and always enjoy the opportunity to show it off."
Members can also avail themselves of the cottages at True
North. Each four-bedroom cottage is a short stroll from the
clubhouse, where guests can dine, visit the serene and well-
maintained practice facility or head to the course.
"Once our members arrive on property they really no
longer need their car, everything can be easily accessed by
golf cart," Payne said. "That makes it so convenient."
Additionally, the creation of Camp True North – which will
include 15 cabin lots, access to ponds and hiking trails, and a
wide array of camping-style amenities and activities – con-
tributes to the congenial, all-inclusive family atmosphere.
