higher elevations the views can be
remarkable.
"The first tee shot on hole No. 1
sets the tone for the day," said
Tom Szwedzinski, PGA Head Golf
Professional at Saticoy. "It is an el-
evated tee with out of bounds on
the left and right. The view over-
looks the Channel Islands and is
beautiful any time of the day.
Hole No. 14 is awe-inspiring as
you look down the winding fair-
way with a 100-foot deep canyon
all the way up the left side of the
hole."
While the course and the al-
ways mild weather on this part of
the California coast are big draws,
there are plenty of other amenities
at Saticoy. The Pit is a world-class
short-game practice area, there are
two putting greens, a swimming
pool with dining services, fitness
center, and men's and ladies
locker room, with a dry sauna in
the men's.
"Most importantly, members
love our food and beverage pro-
gram pioneered by Chef Jeff
Downey," Santaw said. "Members
enjoy themed Sunday dinners
such as Stir-Fry Night, Build Your
Own Flatbread Night, Italian
Night, Tacos Night, etc. Saticoy
Country Club members also enjoy
reciprocal dining privileges with
other country clubs in the area."
Members benefit from no tee
times as well as the Champi-
onship Collection, the first-ever
Southern California private equity
club agreement with Oakmont
Country Club in Glendale and
Hacienda Golf Club in La Habra
Heights. This exciting program
provides equity members at each
club the privilege of 12 rounds of
golf at the other two clubs each
calendar year.
Even if you're not a member,
Saticoy has something to offer. It
hosts charity golf tournaments at
a 20 percent savings, and its loca-
tion right off the 101 makes it
ideal for weddings from Los An-
geles to Malibu.
