T
he California golf course, located between Gilroy and San Jose, is the product of Robert Trent Jones
Jr., and will host the 2016 Women's U.S. Open. Its 260-acre layout is on the western slopes of the Santa
Cruz Mountains and the long history of the property, which has been used as everything from livestock
grazing to vineyards, is retained in Jones' natural, intimate design. The course opened in 1999, and it's
championship caliber on every level, from its 7,360-yard length from the tips to the kind of tournaments it
has hosted, including the PGA Tour's Frys.Com Open from 2010 to 2013 and the USGA Senior Women's
Championship in 2013. It's also a full-fledged resort, complete with 45 bungalows, fairway homes and villa
suites, a Tuscan-style winery and vineyard, a tennis center, spa, and three onsite dining venues.
