combine in Las Positas
Golf Course's junior golf
program, aptly titled the ACE
(Athletic Commitment to Ex-
cellence) Junior Golf Academy.
With four levels within the pro-
gram to meet the various skill
and preferences of students,
there are plenty of options for
getting kids out on the course
year round.
"Our main goal with the
ACE Junior Golf Academy is to
facilitate growth and teach life
skills," said PGA Head Golf
Professional Jeff DeBenedetti.
"Of course we want our stu-
dents to excel at golf and we
do everything we can to make
that happen, but even if they
decide golf isn't their sport of
choice, they will definitely
come away with life skills."
There are four levels offered
in the ACE program through-
out the year, focusing on fun-
damentals, etiquette, and life
skills, such as honesty, in-
tegrity and good judgment:
DELTA
The Delta is the beginning
and intermediate program that
runs in the spring, summer
and fall. The spring and fall
sessions are lesson-based, so
students come once a week for
group instruction, then once
every other week for skills
challenges and on-course play.
The summer session is also les-
son-based, but it kicks off with
a four-day clinic and follows
with weekly clinics and
weekly tournaments for the
entire eight-week program.
ALPHA
Alpha and Beta are the next
step once fundamentals are es-
tablished through our Delta
program or lessons. Clinics
and individual lessons are de-
veloped to increase the players
skill level. Alpha is an annual
program that meets bi-
monthly for clinics as well as
individual lessons.
BETA
The BETA program is an ad-
vance practice program giving
players intensive on course
practice. The focus being
course management in addi-
tional to their lessons. This
program works well with the
ALPHA program for the
player who is ready to take
their game to the next level.
GAMMA
Our GAMMA program
takes training to a new level. It
gets the golfer ready physi-
cally, nutritionally, mentally
and academically for the Elite
player to excel at the competi-
tion level as well as at the col-
legiate level.

he PGA Junior
League is an impor-
tant facet of the ACE
Junior Golf Academy at
Las Positas Golf Course,
as it gives youth under
the age of 13 the chance
to actually play in
matches against
neighboring
teams.
Coupled
with the exten-
sive lessons and
hands-on experience the
ACE program provides,
the PGA Junior League is
one more way to get
kids involved and ex-
cited about golf.
With a reputation as
one of the top teams in
the area – and even a na-
tional championship to
its name from 2012 – the
Las Positas PGA Junior
League leads the way for
a collaborative, motivat-
ing and fun golf setting.
