DURING HARvEST SEASON
W
ente Vineyards is a unique wine country destina-
tion that guests can enjoy year-round. But it's Har-
vest Season that offers the most exciting time for
wine enthusiasts to visit the Livermore Valley, providing a
unique opportunity to learn about one of the most crucial
steps in the winemaking process – harvesting grapes.
Extensive planning goes into making sure Har-
vest Season is as productive and bountiful as
possible here at Wente Vineyards. The team of
winegrowers and winemakers prepare far in
advance to put all the necessary pieces into
place for a successful harvest. After all, Mother
Nature only allows a small window of time to
get things right, and there's little room for error.
As Fifth Generation Winegrower and Winemaker Karl
Wente puts it: "Mother Nature is the final decision maker of
how harvest will go. From year to year, you never know what
will happen. In the end, we really are just farmers."
In addition to harvest, this time of year brings many excit-
ing activities to the vineyards, such as our outdoor Cinema
Series, Craft Beer Dinners, and Dog Day Afternoons. With the
weather cooling down and the leaves changing colors, au-
tumn is a beautiful time to visit Wente Vineyards.
