Y ou've got to hand it Donald Trump. The billionaire real estate developer, TV personality and owner of Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles has pulled off a remarkable golf feat. It was announced in March that the play- ers who win the four major championships in 2015 will be invited to tee it up at his sea- side course in Rancho Palos Verdes for the 33rd PGA Grand Slam of Golf in October. It will be the first time the tournament has been played on the mainland since 1993, and it will be another significant notch in Mr. Trump's golf belt. What he and his team have done with Trump National LA has been extraordinary. Even though the course overlooks the Pacific Ocean with sensational views, there are those who could have lambasted Mr. Trump for dumping cash into a money pit when he purchased the property in 2002. The course, after all, had experienced a landslide where part of the 18th hole col- lapsed toward the sea and was reduced to 15 holes, it didn't have a driving range, and it was in financial ruin. But a trip to Trump National LA today will find an incredibly beautiful layout that has become a vibrant part of the community and golf landscape. And now, the 2015 major championship winners will be invited to Southern Califor- nia to compete on his course.
