If you want to score well on this Rees Jones layout, you'll have to carefully manage your round at his
coastal Oregon Dunes course that ranks a consistent favorite among locals and visitors to the seaside
town of Florence, Oregon. To sum it up: Sandpines can be challenging, but it's always fair. Holes me-
ander through dunes and wooded areas, thus spurring comparisons to Pinehurst and the Monterey
Peninsula. Most afternoons be prepared to contend with gusty winds – but isn't that one of the joys
of links golf? Holes 16, 17 and 18 – dubbed "the crescendo" – play around a large lake. Five sets of
tees that max out at 7,190 yards let you select the level of challenge you're up to for the round.
