GINGERBREAD WORKSHOPS BUILDING IN POPULARITY
I
t was a sold-out good time at December's gingerbread house-making
workshops over the holidays. There was a family gingerbread workshop
for kids to take part in as well as an adult-only event, where guests took
chef-made gingerbread pieces and transformed them into festive houses
complete with candy decorations while enjoying Wente Family Estates
wines and watching Christmas movies. "The event was definitely a great
addition to the holidays," said Tasting Room Director Lindsay Knight.
CRAFT BEER DINNERS AT THE
GRILL CONTINUE TO SELL OUT
J
anuary's craft beer dinner at The Grill at
Wente Vineyards provided a refreshingly
intimate setting. Steve Sartori, co-owner of
Altamont Beer Works, entertained the
group of 30 with anecdotes and insight.
Guests enjoyed the forum, asking ques-
tions throughout the evening as they en-
joyed the three-course meal paired with
Altamont beers specifically chosen for each
course. The Grill has five more craft beer
dinners on the books early this year but all
have sold out, with plans under way for
possibly adding more events.
L
ast year's new release parties enjoyed the biggest
turnout ever at Wente Vineyards. The two-day events
are held each quarter and are open to members of the
three Wente Family Estates wine clubs. The most recent
release party took place in November, when guests en-
joyed delicious food pairings, a live band, and tastings
from the double barrel during the day. For the first time,
the Tasting Room was open to the public, and guests
were able to sign up for one of the wine clubs. "It was our
most successful release party so far," said Tasting Room
Director Lindsay Knight. "We had the biggest turnout
ever and all who attended had a great time."
