But no program is focused more directly on actu- ally improving your game than The Players Club, which is now being offered at nearly a dozen American Golf courses in Southern California. While the monthly fee, which is $29.99 or $39.99 depending on the course, gives range credit and free green fees one hour prior to super twilight at most courses, it also includes free professional in- struction via two one-hour clinics each week. "It's a great value and a great way to improve your game," said Tate Stull, General Manager of Knollwood Country Club in Granada Hills. "It's a player development and improvement program that allows golfers of any level to work on their game with complimentary practice balls, golf clin- ics every week, discounted golf gear and free cart fees after 12 p.m. And, members enjoy a free drink each time they play golf." The program has been such a success that Amer- ican Golf is now offering it at 21 of its clubs across the country, including 10 in Southern California. "To me, it is absolutely the best program avail- able in the golf industry today," said Jeff Perry, a Regional Vice President at American Golf Corpora- tion. "What I enjoy the most about it is hearing our guests' initial reactions … Typically, it's either 'no way' or 'this is too good to be true.'" Details of the American Golf Players Club do vary at each participating course. For instance, while range balls and instruction are offered at each course, some courses do not offer complimen- tary green fees but do offer free golf carts for mem- bers. Other courses offer discounted green frees, but not complimentary golf carts. "It's a great offer that is designed to improve your skills," said Tim Hayward, General Manager at Tecolote Canyon Golf Course in San Diego, "and help you enjoy the game of golf." GAME IMPROVEMENT The Players Club offers golfers ample opportunity to raise their level of play The Players Club is offered at Coyote Hills in Fullerton.
