t didn't come as much surprise when
Bali Hai Golf Club was recently voted
as Best Course in Las Vegas by the
Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Associ-
ation — for the sixth straight year.
"We absolutely try our best to work
with the hotels and to give our golfers the
kind of five-star service they'd receive at a
fine hotel," said Bali Hai General Manager
Michael Wachtman. "From the time you
come through our gate until the time you
drive out, someone is involved with
making sure you're having the best ex-
perience possible."
In fact, employees receive the same
kind of service training that the Four
Seasons Hotels offers it employees,
from greeting each individual with eye
contact and striking up a conversation to
"anticipating and responding to any of
their needs, often before they even know
they need them," Wachtman said. "It's
something we work hard at and are very
proud of."
The tropically themed course includes
more than 4,000 fully grown palm trees
and seven acres of water features right on
The Strip.
Along with individualized service, Bali
Hai also earns high marks for its ameni-
ties, from a forecaddie program to offer-
ing mango-scented ice towels on each
nine and cleaning clubs before the round
and at the turn.
Then there's the property's five-star
restaurant, Cili. The Asian-infused con-
temporary American cuisine restaurant
offers a two-for-one drink special after
each round.
"We're always encouraging people to
come in after their round for a drink and
an appetizer or a full meal," Wachtman
said. "It's a great way to top off a wonder-
ful day of golf."
