New research confirms indispensable value of brochures
C
ertified Folder Display hosted the International Associa-
tion of Professional Brochure Distributors annual meet-
ing in Denver this past September. One thing stood out
among the many revelations: with more than 200 million
brochures picked up annually, print remains as relevant as ever.
Three newly released studies revealed that brochures are the
No. 1 source for visitor information in-market, and were found
to be the most influential form of print media among
all age groups. Leisure travelers want easy-to-read
and easy-to-find information about local attrac-
tions located in hotels, tourist attractions and
visitor centers, one of the studies concluded.
Another pointed to how brochures have the
potential to influence and sway travel plans:
• 52% of leisure travelers said they might alter
their plans after picking up a brochure;
• 60% will visit an attraction because of a brochure;
• 61% became aware of a service because of brochure;
• 76% state brochures influence travel decisions.

vant and critical tool in assisting leisure travelers.
