Recently, Club Wente Golf members have enjoyed events including the Club Invitational Member-Guest, a Team Best-Ball event and the Club Championship. More than a dozen events fill the Club tournament schedule each season, where players tee it up on a course that winds its way through native woodlands, mature vineyards and rolling hills of natural grasslands. CRAFT BEER DINNER HIGHLIGHTED BY UNIQUE MENU AND TOP LOCAL BREWS D ozens of guests attended October's Autumn Craft Beer Dinner, featuring an impressive collabora- tion of Wente Vineyards' four chefs. Executive Grill Chef Owen Nattrass paired Beer Poached Shrimp with Ale Industries; Mark Duesler's Braised Pork Belly was served with Schubros; Executive Catering Chef Jeff Farlow's Tamarind Glazed Beef Short Rib went with Eight Bridges Brewing Company; and the almond cake, created by Restaurant Pastry Chef Melissa Duesler, was served with Calicraft's sparkling ale. Each chef discussed their plate, while brewmasters talked about the accompanying beer and their brew- ery. Plans are currently under way to expand the Craft Beer Dinners to bi-monthly events in 2015. MURDER MYSTERY DINNER BRINGS INTRIGUE TO MURRIETA'S WELL M urder was on the menu earlier this month at Murrieta's Well. Turnout was great for the Murder Mystery Dinner held Oct. 17 at the Wente Family Estates winery. While guests mingled in their finest Roaring '20s attire, each tried to figure out who was the suspect, or if they were the culprit themselves in an Old Hollywood murder mystery. It was an evening of fine estate wines paired with a delicious three-course, family-style meal. The event got under way with hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner and the solving of the interac- tive event. CLICK HERE to learn more about Murrieta's Well.
