GAME IMPROVEMENT
I
t's that time of the year. Summer
is over. Vacations have ended.
And now is time to get back to
work – on your golf game!
We know that's sometimes easier
said than done. But don't worry. We

to get their take on what it takes to
perform at your highest level on the
practice tee and the golf course.

COURSE MANAGEMENT
PLAY IT SMART
KNOW WHEN THE RISK IS WORTH
THE REWARD
BY michELLE DuBé
W
hen hitting approach shots, it's tempt-
ing to go "flag hunting" and aim for a
tucked pin no matter what trouble lies in
front, in back or on the side of the green.
If you simply were to aim at the middle of
all 18 greens, you will increase the size of
your target and you will hit more greens.
There are times you may want to take a
riskier line to the flag with a wedge or short
iron in your hands. Make sure you know ex-
actly how far you have to carry the ball so it
stays clear of trouble. If you are completely
confident with your direction and distance
control using the club in your hands, then it
may be worth hunting down that flag.
