texas-based group buys
venerable Vegas track
T
here's a changing of the
guard in Las Vegas, as
Walters Golf has recently
sold Desert Pines Golf Club to a
Texas-based investment firm.
Effective from August 1, 2014,
the Dye Designs course is now
owned by Arcis Equity Partners
and will be managed by Eagle Golf
Management.
"Though we no longer own the
course, we are proud of the legacy
we're leaving behind," said Mike
Luce, Walters Golf President. "We
couldn't be happier with the new
owners, and we're confident the
new management of Eagle Golf will
continue to elevate the quality of
golf in Las Vegas."
Walters Golf had owned and op-
erated Desert Pines Golf Club since
its opening in 1996.
Arcis plans a multi-million dollar
capital improvement project over
the next 18 months and day-to-day
operations will be handled by Eagle
Golf Management, which has man-
aged municipal, public and private
courses throughout the country
since 1984.
"Our sustained success is the di-
rect result of a deep understanding
of the golf industry and a constant
eye on the future of the game,"
said Eagle Golf Management CEO
Joe Munsch. "Our track record
speaks for itself. The facilities we
manage are consistently recognized
as the best in their market for
course conditions, available ameni-
ties and customer service."
The company currently manages
30 golf courses, most in Texas and
the Midwest.
Desert Pines was one of three
distinctive courses operated by
Walters Golf. It was designed to
emulate the sandhills courses
found in the Carolinas, with thou-
sands of mature pine trees.
Walters Golf still manages the
tropically-themed Bali Hai Golf
Club on the Las Vegas Strip, as well
as the Royal Links Golf Club, which
offers a collection of marquee holes
inspired by British Open courses.
"Walters Golf would like to thank
all of its valued guests and assure
them that their Vegas Preferred ben-
efits will gladly be honored at Royal
Links and Bali Hai," said Corporate
Vice President of Marketing for
Walters Golf Josh Hill.
"Though we
no longer
own the
course, we
are proud of
the legacy
we're leaving
behind."
