National golf magazines have perennially ranked the course as Missouri's top track, and it has drawn local, regional and national attention. The course has a unique his- tory and story to tell, too. It sits on land originally settled in 1798 by Scottish immigrant Rebecca Ramsey, sister of the The Earl of Dalhousie, and bor- ders private land hous- ing a mansion replicating Scotland's famous Dalhousie Cas- tle. Thus, the name. "There was never a ques- tion as to what the name of our club was going to be," said Dom- browski. "It was named in honor of what was here before us." As a private club, Dalhousie offers memberships for residents in the area, but also has a unique National Membership program for out-of-town visitors. National members can make use of the four quaint cottages on property that feature sleeping ac- commodations, fireplaces, loung- ing areas, kitchens, and patios. Another highlight on the prop- erty is the clubhouse, Dalhousie Manor, which features the pro shop and several dining options. But it's the golf course and mid-West hospitality that keep bringing members and their guests back to Dalhousie, which is set to host the 2015 USGA Women's State Team Championship in the fall. "When a guy who is state champion or a national-caliber player says, 'Man that was a good golf course to play,' or a club member brings in a guest who says the same thing, then I think you hit the mark," Dom- browski said. "Not a lot of courses can say that." CLICK HERE FOR NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS
