T
he long-awaited opening of the
Tetherow Lodges gives Teth-
erow Golf Club a unique place
in the greater Bend area. It's the only
resort property located in the city,
which makes it ideal for golfers as
well as those who want to use it as a
base to explore the myriad recre-
ational offerings in the area.
"There are some great resorts in the
area but they're all about 30 minutes
from downtown Bend, which is really
the hub," said Tetherow Oper-
ations Manager Davis
Smith. "So we're the first
full-service resort actu-
ally in the city."
The 50-room boutique
hotel opened in April and
features nine different floor
plans with fireplaces, along with stun-
ning views of the Cascade Mountains.
Two dining options, including a
fine-dining restaurant and a pub, are
on-site, as is an Adventure Concierge
that will help lodge guests plan their
outdoor activities.
"There is so much here beyond
golf," Smith said. "Outside Magazine
just rated Bend as the top stand-up
paddleboard spot the world, the De-
schutes River flows right through
Bend, so there's white water rafting,
fishing and hiking. A big ski resort is
just up the road. The mountain bike
scene is just crazy up here. And The
Ale Trail, with 15 breweries in Bend,
is also very popular."
Then, of course, there's the ac-
claimed 7,298-yard semi-private golf
course, known for its panoramic
views and imaginative routing that is
open from April to November.
"This is a true links-style course,"
Smith said. "It's a different experi-
ence from anywhere in the area and
we think the addition of the hotel just
makes us that much more special."
