he Pacific Northwest may not yet have
the golfing cache of Scotland, Hawaii
or Myrtle Beach, but Gamble Sands,
which opens August 2, is the latest
high-profile course in the region helping to
fundamentally alter that perception.
Designed by David McLay Kidd, the Scottish
designer responsible for Oregon's famed coastal
course Bandon Dunes, and owned by a family
that has farmed the state for more than a century,
Gamble Sands has roots firmly planted in both
golf tradition and the soil of Washington.
