WEDDING DAY BLISS 18th HOLE PROVIDES A PERFECT SETTING T he view from the 18th green at San Vicente Resort golf course offers a stunning vista that includes a cascad- ing waterfall, glimmering turquoise- blue lake with rocks and palm trees that frame the finishing hole. The 18th hole is also where a bride and groom can say their vows. At dusk, after the last golfer putted out and the ceremony begins, the mountains in the dis- tance turn a beautiful shade of purple as night-fall begins to light up the sky. Guests are transported to the site in white six-person carts, the bride and groom in their own specially decorated ride. There, chairs line the aisle. "The 18th hole is a beautiful park-like setting," says Joyce Whelehon, Catering and Event Planner. "It's so pretty and serene, especially being right on the lake." LUXURY LIVING Rooms at The Lodge are being updated with a fresh, modernized style I f the Hospitality Suite is any indication, guests at The Lodge at San Vicente are in for a lux- urious stay. The resort recently refurbished the entire room — a permanent boardroom table seats six, there's a full-size refrigerator, a flat screen TV, and a mounted easel board. Stocked with glassware and other utensils, the Hospitality Suite is perfect for golf groups, small business meetings and wedding preparations. Guest rooms have all new duvet bedding, curtains and valances, 32-inch flat screen TVs and energy-efficient/noise-modifying sliding doors to the private balcony. King rooms will be dark charcoal and maroon, queen rooms are soft yellow and gray. "Everything will be modernized — from the geometric patterns on the bedding to the up- dated paint colors," said Jennifer Carbone, Lodge Manager. New patio furniture is also on the way. "Every room has the most spectacular views," Carbone says. "Now everything in the room en- hances that view, and the outdoor furniture will make it more comfortable." It's a wonderful time for Carbone, who started at the Lodge two-and-a-half years ago. "When I came here a lot of rooms were out- dated," Carbone says. "It's very exciting to see what the rooms are turning into."
