one

a
brand
new,
state-of-the-art
smartphone
mobile
app
will
make
its
debut.
Along
with
allowing
guests
to
book
tee
times,
the
ap-
plication
will
feature
a
GPS
yardage
guide
with
state-of-the-art
3D
ani-
mated
flyover
graphics
that
allow
golfers
to
visualize
the
hole
and
get
a
feel
for
the
ter-
rain.
It
offers
precise
yardage
to
the
front,
middle
and
back
of
the
green
from
anywhere
on
the
course.
Users
also
will
have
access
to
live
scoring
and
leaderboards,
social
media,
special
promotions
and
more.
When
it
becomes
available,
the
mobile
app
can
be
down-
loaded
for
free
through
iTunes
and
Google
play.

as Vegas is never lacking in energy
and excitement, but the vibe amps
up a notch when March Madness
rolls into town.
The annual NCAA basketball
tournament, which begins
March 18, brings in floods of
hoops fans hoping to win big on
their favorite teams or to pro-
duce a winning bracket.
"It's bigger than New Year's,
so you can imagine what it's
like at the hotels and what the
vibe is like on The Strip," says
Charles Bombard, General Man-
ager at Royal Links Golf Club.
"It's very exciting."
The Walters Golf courses —
Bali Hai, Desert Pines and Royal
Links — offer a temporary
respite. Golfers can get in a round and then
relax in the clubhouse while watching
games on TV.
"We're a safe haven amongst the mad-
ness," says Bombard.
Desert Pines General Manager Charles
Fralix says Walters Golf employees keep
tabs on the games in order to keep their
customers informed.
"We're golf course employees, meterolo-
gists and ESPN Sports Center all at the
same time," he said.
There's one more added bonus to the
NCAA tournament this year: Investor War-
ren Buffet and Quicken Loans Inc. have put
up a billion dollars for anybody who picks
all 67 games correctly.
But you'd better book your room and
golf rounds early so you'll have a comfort-
able spot to count your money if you win.
