early 20 events have al-
ready been completed
in the PGA Tour's final
wraparound season, yet
it feels like we're just getting started.
The WM Phoenix Open marked the
first full-field "elevated" event in
2023, one of the tournaments where
purses have been jacked up to $20
million and all the elite golfers are
entered. Phoenix didn't disappoint,
giving us a showdown between two
of the world's top three players, Scot-
tie Scheffler and Jon Rahm — with
Canadian Nick Taylor also in the mix.
Along with 13 other elevated
events, plus the majors and the Ryder
Cup, storylines abound. The same
holds true for the LPGA Tour — in a
Solheim Cup year — and for the PGA
Tour Champions as well, where up-
start Steven Alker looks to repeat his
2022, while Steve Stricker, Padraig
Harrington and Bernhard Langer
chase history.
