Major fundraiser set for Indian Wells Golf Resort's two courses O ne of the biggest fund- raisers for First Tee – Coachella Valley is its annual golf tournament. And in 2023, it will get even bigger. The 13th annual event, set for Monday, April 10, will take place at the 36-hole Indian Wells Golf Re- sort, marking the first time it's ever been played on two courses. Previously held at Desert Hori- zons Country Club, which is under- going a renovation, the 2023 event will be able to accommodate up to 288 golfers on the Celebrity and Players courses. "With Desert Horizons under construction this year, we have found a very welcoming second home for the tournament at Indian Wells Golf Resort," said First Tee – Coachella Valley Executive Director Teal Guion. "We are hoping we can fill both courses, but we will need everyone's support to get it done!" Registration is $250 per player and includes a barbecue dinner and an invitation to enjoy Shots in the Night, the totally unique experi- ence at Indian Wells Golf Resort that has been described as a night- time golf amusement park and fea- tures a new Top Tracer driving range experience and laser putting games on seven dedicated greens. Non-golfers also can participate by attending dinner and Shots in the Night for $100. Among the many things that make this tournament unique, Guion said, is that participants of all ages from First Tee – Coachella Valley programs serve as "caddies," so golfers will get to meet some of the kids who are positively im- pacted by the organization. "Our tournament is always so fun because of the Youth Caddies on the golf course," Guion ex- plained. "They will help read putts and give advice to the players, and we will have more than ever this year because the event is being held over spring break. We are ex- cited to introduce all our adorable Youth Caddies to our supporters." Proceeds from the event help fund programs that support thou- sands of kids throughout the Valley.
