To get the latest infor- mation, Zoom calls have been set up for Tuesday, August 30, and Thursday, September 1, from 4:30-6 p.m. "First Tee – Coachella Valley will be rolling out a fairly significant curriculum change this fall and this will be a great opportunity to update current and new families about those changes," said Program Director Kyle Winn. The orientations will give parents the chance to learn more about what their kids will experience as part of the First Tee – Coachella Valley, additional programs and activities that will be offered, and to ask any additional questions. The changes are expected to take place when new classes begin on October 10. Higher education Maleyna Gregorio earns national scholarship E ighteen-year-old Maleyna Gregorio was already a bona fide star of the First Tee – Coachella Valley, following her competitive results on the 2021 Southern California PGA Junior Tour. Her star is shining even brighter these days, after being named a $20,000 scholarship winner from the First Tee College Scholarship Program. Maleyna, who will continue her golf and education at UC Riverside this fall, is one of only 25 First Tee scholars nationwide to earn the scholarship. She is exceptionally grateful for the award. "It's an incredible honor and blessing to be a First Tee National Scholarship recipient," Maleyna said. "I am beyond euphoric to have this opportunity moving forward during the next chapter in my life. I believe it's going to be an amazing experience!" Maleyna said she is eagerly awaiting college life. "I can't wait to have a team of girls to practice with, work out, travel and experience lifelong memories with," she said. "There's a lot to look forward to and I am extremely excited." Her youthful enthusiasm makes everyone smile, but Maleyna is clear-eyed about what the First Tee – Coachella Valley has meant to her during her journey. "I could not say enough about what the First Tee – Coachella Valley has done for me," she said.
