EXCITING NEW SERIES KICKS OFF AT
RANCHO DEL SOL DISC GOLF PARK
T
he Rally at Rancho has ar-
rived. A series of four Profes-
sional Disc Golf Association
(PDGA) tournaments set to
take place at the Rancho Del Sol Disc
Golf Park kicked off on Saturday,
March 19, with an event that provided
a top-notch aerial display from ama-
teur and professional players.
Mitchell Kloc of Freeland, Michigan,
took first place with an 8-under-par
performance, and was followed by
Nathan Heron and Ryan Carey, who
finished two shots back.
The Rally at Rancho series will con-
tinue with its next event in July, fol-
lowed by tournaments in September

>> The Rancho Del Sol Disc Golf Park
played host to its first-ever PDGA tour-
nament on February 20, which featured
an exciting finish among three South-
ern Californians.
The three players finished in a tie at
the conclusion of the Golden Sombrero
Open, and it took a three-hole playoff
to decide the winner. Garrett Tapken of
El Cajon sealed the victory by making
a 5-foot birdie on hole No. 17 to defeat
Joel Hall of Stanton and Willie Grenis of
San Diego.

>> A Twilight Skins match was held
at the Rancho Del Sol Disc Golf Park
on February 17, that featured profes-
sionals Bradley Williams, Jacob Courtis,
Clint Calvin, and Parker Welck. Courtis,
who has nine career PDGA victories,
won the match and took home $1,000.

>> The Inland Flight Club, a group of
seasoned disc golfers who compete in
an array of tournaments throughout
the Inland Empire, has been holding
events at the Rancho Del Sol Disc Golf
Park Friday-Sunday every week.
The cost to enter is $15, which in-
cludes a $10 green fee, $3 for a prize
pot, and $2 for an ace prize, which was
recently up to $400.
