A TEE
TIME
P
atrick Warburton has had us
grinning ear-to-ear for decades,
in his role as "Puddy" on
Seinfeld, in National Car Rental
TV spots and on countless other occasions.
Treating childhood cancer at St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital is no
laughing matter, however. That's why
Warburton will switch hats once again
February 24-27 for his 12th annual charity
event known as "The Warburton," which
includes golf at Classic Club and so much
more. As the golf portion was cancelled
due to the pandemic in 2021, anticipation
for this year's event has skyrocketed.
"We're honored to be hosting the 12th
Annual Warburton," said Classic Club
Tournament Coordinator Joe Fritz. "We
take a lot of pride in assisting the Berger
Foundation and Mr. Warburton in raising
a substantial amount of money for an
amazing cause in St. Jude's. Our motto at
Classic Club is 'Play to Give' and The
Warburton in particular gives us an
opportunity to put those words into
action. We're very excited to welcome
everyone back to Classic Club for two
days of outstanding golf, plus the post-
golf banquet, awards and check
presentation on the final day."
New for 2022 is the event's use of a
second area course, Desert Willow's
Firecliff. Back from previous years are
the immensely popular preliminaries,
including an auction, Songwriters'
Night with music from Nashville's most
celebrated tunesmiths, and the Friday
night RheneyPalooza Jam, with Alice
Cooper, former Eagles' guitarist Don
Felder and REM's Mike Mills among the
performers. Saturday night brings a
celebrity-studded party called The Soiree
and on Sunday, the golf concludes.
The Warburton has raised more than
$17 million dollars in 11 years. Classic
Club is "thrilled to be an integral partner
to such a special cause," Fritz said.
