Classes run over nine weeks from January 10- March 12, and include daily access to The Golf Center at Palm Desert, use of golf equipment and program- ming materials, access to the driving range, and par- ticipation in PGA/LPGA and First Tee events. Cost is $65 per class, per student. Scholarships and financial aid are available. >> Click here to learn more. u u u PGA Tour welcomes kids from First Tee E xcitement is mounting for kids at the First Tee – Coachella Valley as the PGA Tour returns January 20-23 for The American Ex- press. Participants from the FTCV ages 12 and up will be assisting as standard bearers on the Pete Dye Sta- dium Course at PGA WEST. There also will be two junior reporters covering the weekend golf action along with two concerts featuring rock band Maroon 5 and country star Brad Paisley. In addition, the First Tee – Coachella Valley Fun Zone will take place at the PGA  WEST driving range on Sunday, January 23 from 1-5 p.m., with fun golf games in a carnival-like at- mosphere for kids ages 4-18. > Click here to sign up to be a standard bearer. Event raises more than $10,000 for First Tee - Coachella Valley T he first-ever Golf-A-Thon and Family Fundraising Competition proved to be a big success for First Tee – Coachella Valley. Held over four weeks and culminating with the Golf-A-Thon on December 5, team captains went head-to-head in a battle to see who could raise the most money for the organization. Team Go Gemma Go took the top spot, raising $2,802. Team Roman was second at $2,650, and Team Blake Ventura finished third with $1,650. With all the teams combined, the First Tee – Coachella Valley raised $10,477. "We are so proud of all our teams," said Teal Guion, Executive Director of First Tee – Coachella Valley.
