Private clubs kick off the season with festive opening nights
O
pening night for PGA
WEST's private clubs
featured plenty of food,
fun and festivities.
Members of The Club at PGA WEST
kicked off the season with a West Gala
celebration (reminiscent of the Met Gala)
on November 13, while Members of The
Citrus Club joined in a red carpet affair
on November 20 that would have made
Hollywood stars proud.
Taking place at the PGA WEST Private
Clubhouse, the West Gala featured a
three-course meal that included chilled
ocean delicacies and porcini-cloaked filet
mignon as well as three dining areas with
bands and dancing. There were multiple
themes within the event, including an
enchanted garden with a living vine and
another area with an Art Deco stilt walker.
Living statues greeted Members at the
entrance and champagne was served by
gloved hands through a wall of vines.
"The event was amazing and over the top,"
said Lori English, Director of Member
Services and Events for The Club at PGA
WEST. "So many Members were thrilled
to be back for the season and excited and
happy to be with friends again."
At The Citrus Club's "Red Carpet"
Opening Season Celebration, Members
dressed up for the festive occasion, walked
a long red carpet through the entrance,
and took pictures in front of a step and
repeat banner as well as two real Oscars
from late actress Luise Rainer, whose
daughter is a member of the club. Rainer
was the first thespian to win multiple
Academy Awards and the first win it in
back-to-back years.
