Classic Club reopens
after overseeding with
ideal playing conditions

fter overseeding all the tees,
fairways, rough and driving
range this fall, Classic Club
reopened for play in mid-November
with no cart path restrictions.
"Everything is looking great, and
conditions have been really good upon
opening," said Director of Agronomy
Tony Spannaus. "Golfers have been ex-
cited to get back out here, especially as
so many seasonal residents are arriv-
ing for the winter. We've heard a lot of
positive feedback already."
Golfers who play the course will ex-
perience several differences with the
winter ryegrass as compared to the
warm-season Bermuda at Classic Club.
"The most important difference on
the golf course is the growing
characteristics of each," Spannaus said.
"Warm season grasses tend to have
lateral growing habits and have severe
grain, while cool season grasses have
