Rancho del Sol hosts event
with mayors & city leaders
R
ancho del Sol Golf Club enjoyed
a moment in the spotlight on
October 4 as leaders from cities
across western Riverside County came
together for the inaugural Mayor's Cup
Invitational Golf Tournament.
Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian
Gutierrez, fellow city council members,
and dignitaries from Banning,
Beaumont, Corona, Eastvale, Hemet,
Murrieta, Perris, Temecula and more
battled it out in a friendly day of
competition on the newly renovated
Rancho del Sol, whose golf
professionals also participated.
"I want to thank Rancho Del Sol Golf
Club for allowing us to use their
beautiful course to have fun and
strengthen the camaraderie between
our cities," Mayor Gutierrez said.
In tournament action, the team from
Moreno Valley, made up of Rancho del
Sol Head Golf Professional Cory
Camilleri, Josh Beseneatte, Jeremiah
Dominguez and Joe Battaglia took
home first place honors, followed by
the cities of Perris and Hemet.

G
olfers will have extra incentive
to celebrate the holidays at
Rancho del Sol this year.
In order to allow players to satisfy
their golf fix and get home in time for
their holiday meals, Rancho del Sol will
offer opportunities to play on Thanks-
giving and Christmas Day.
> For Thanksgiving, Rancho del Sol
will run a full course shotgun starting at
8:30 a.m. that will feature a two-player
scramble. Entry is $60 per person ($50
for Players Card members) and the top
four teams will receive shop credit as
prizes. Featuring a gross format,
the event will also include
closest-to-the-pin prizes on all
the par 3s, and a Bloody Mary
bar on the deck before competi-
tion begins.
> On Christmas Day, Rancho
del Sol will offer split tee times at
the regular weekend rate from
7:30-9:30 a.m. to allow the oppor-
tunity for more morning rounds
and for golfers to "just come out
and play," said Mark Stevens,
CEO of SCS Golf Management,
which owns Rancho del Sol.
"Holiday golf at Rancho del Sol will
give golfers extra time to spend with
family and friends before they head out
to enjoy dinner," Stevens said.
Rancho del Sol will offer food and
beverage service on both holidays, the
bar will be open, and a beverage cart
will be available on the course.
