Making an impact
Desert Horizons is key to top fund-raiser
W
hen First Tee –
Coachella Valley
needed a host course
for its annual fund-raising golf
tournament in April this year,
Desert Horizons Country Club
stepped up big time.
By donating the golf
course for the event,
Desert Horizons
Country Club helped
the organization
raise $125,000 used to
fund its programs and
activities for local kids.
The partnership has proven
to be a success and the private
Indian Wells club will be the
site of event again in 2022,
when First Tee – Coachella
Valley holds its fund-raising
event on April 25.
"The Desert Horizons Board of
Directors immediately got be-
hind this event and agreed to a
long-term partnership with the
First Tee," said General Manager
Al Castro. "Our members have
always been generous in sup-
porting worthy causes and were
eager to support this event."
Desert Horizons Coun-
try Club features a
stunning Ted Robin-
son-designed golf
course that was re-
cently renovated by
noted architect Clive
Clark. Additional ren-
ovations are set to take place
throughout the entire property
beginning in Spring 2022.
One thing that will remain
the same is the club's support of
First Tee – Coachella Valley.
"So many young people have
been so positively impacted by
the work of the First Tee," Castro
said. "It's something that every-
one of us want to perpetuate."
