T
he golf course at
Classic Club is
currently closed
through August 31 for
annual summer mainte-
nance projects.
Getting the Arnold
Palmer-designed layout
ready for the upcoming
season, the agronomy
team has been aerifying
tees, fairways, greens and
rough areas to ensure the
course maintains top-
notch conditions during
peak season and
throughout the year.
Aerification is a cul-
tural practice that pro-
motes healthy turf and
helps relieve soil com-
paction from cart, mower
and foot traffic.
The course is sched-
uled to reopen on Sep-
tember 1.

mains a mainstay for charitable events. "The

make it a perfect destination for groups,"
Fritz said.

The golf course
Designed by one of the most recognizable
names in the sport, Arnold Palmer's Classic
Club design is a favorite among locals and
vacationers, and is one of the only courses in
the area without houses or buildings ob-
structing an astounding 360-degree view of
the Coachella Valley. Straightforward and
open off the tee, it is a very manageable golf
course – however, even the best players will
be tested as water comes into play on 14 of
the 18 holes. "The greens are large and roll
incredibly true, and we underwent a bunker
renovation in 2018 that has improved playa-
bility throughout the golf course," Fritz said.

The golf shop
The award-winning golf shop has every-
thing guests may need, from Classic Club
collectables to the newest releases from
Titleist, Callaway, Peter Millar, G/FORE
and many others. Groups are sure to find
the items needed to make their trip a memo-
rable one, and most golf packages include
golf shop credit.

Bellatrix Restaurant
The Classic Grille is open early for break-
fast and lunch, and a beverage cart will al-
ways be on the course. However, no
experience is complete without a 19th hole,
and Bellatrix provides the perfect after-golf
setting for groups. "We have quite the im-
pressive wine, cocktail and beer lists to go
along with our lunch, dinner, and wine bar
menus," Fritz said. "There is also patio seat-
ing available with golf course views." Most
golf packages include food and beverage
credit that guests can use anywhere on prop-
erty before, during, or after the round.
