C L I C K H E R E TO V I E W T H E C L A S S I C C LU B W I N E L I S T FROM THE CELLAR BOOK A TEE TIME B ellatrix Restaurant has an extensive, award-winning wine program, offer- ing hundreds of varietals from destinations ranging from California to Italy and beyond. Here, Classic Club Assistant General Manager Ruan Krugel, takes a look at two offerings currently available in the restaurant: NOW POURING A look at a pair of top wines being served at Bellatrix Restaurant 2016 Wayfarer 'Golden Mean' Pinot Noir When we talk about wines with a great story and sense of place, this is may be at the top of the list for do- mestic producers. In my very humble opinion, this may be as good as it gets in California – very small production, native yeast fermentation with 10 percent whole cluster and a light touch on the part of Todd Kohn. The winemaker makes this the full package and a stunning wine. 2011 Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 was largely panned by critics. I, on the other hand, bought in on the vintage. And this wine shows why, if I could go back in time, I would have bought more! Similar to the 1998 vintage, wines from quality producers will have great longevity and elegance. This 2011 bot- tling is 100 percent Cabernet Sauvi- gnon fruit selected from a spectrum of vineyards, from St. Helena to Howell Mountain to Sacrashe Estate in Ruther- ford. Perfectly integrated, the palate teems with soft and lingering tannins, featuring notes of black currant and candied violets, now starting to show a little bit of tertiary character as the wine starts to age and develop.
