oachella Valley residents and
winter visitors know that there is
no better environment for perfect
golf conditions than the desert
during this time of the year. And
at Classic Club, Director of Agronomy Tony
Spannaus and his team have taken advantage
of these conditions throughout the winter to
provide a spectacular experience for every
golfer who puts a tee in the ground at the
Arnold Palmer-designed championship layout.
As we transition into spring and warmer
weather approaches, some subtle changes to
the turfgrass will get under way in order to ad-
just to the changing temperatures.
"The conditions are excellent on all playing
surfaces right now," Spannaus said. "We have
been slowly dropping the height of cuts on tees,
fairways and roughs so that the underlying
Classic Club's par-5 finishing
hole is a risk-reward thriller.
