TRAVELIN' JOE'S TOP 10 COURSES
FOR UNDER $100
• BY JOE PASSOV
G
reat public golf shouldn't have to cost great
sums. Accessibility is one thing, affordabil-
ity is another. I'm as big a fan as anybody of
the special occasion public-access tracks,
many of which host major championships. I'm looking at
you, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst and Whistling Straits. From
the cost perspective, however, not many folks can handle
a regular diet of bucket list layouts. So don't fret. I've
scoured the country and my scorecard collection and
come up with 10 big-time bargains. If you're in search of
variety, views and especially value, here's your dream
lineup – Travelin' Joe's 10 best courses you can play for
less than $100. (Rates are for high season – or shoulder
season where indicated, for mid-morning play at least
four days per week, except where otherwise noted.)
