Bode said that with American Golf having taken
over management of the two courses, golfers can
expect continued great course conditions
and a fun experience no matter which
layout they play.
On the par-64 Vineyard Course, there
is plenty of water – eight acres total over
the closing five holes – and players
won't soon forget the spectacular island green on
the signature 18th. Originally designed by Billy
Bell Jr., it has undergone a number of renovations
and changes, and features four new holes "on top
of the world" at the highest elevation in the city,
providing panoramic ocean views.
Victoria Lakes is a true shotmaker's course, with
plenty of shots that offer the types of risk-reward
scenarios that can win or lose a match. It hosted a
U.S. Senior Open qualifier in 2016. Holes 12-14 are
the course's own version of Amen Corner, and the
13th is arguably the most challenging hole in the
county. Featuring a double dogleg that plays into
the wind, it measures 425 yards from the blue tees
and is flanked by lakes on both sides.
"On these three holes, pars feel like birdies,"
Bode pointed out.
As an American Golf managed property, River
Ridge will now offer The Players Club, providing
members with discounted golf, free range balls,
free weekly clinics and discounts on merchandise
for a small monthly subscription. A calendar will
be sent out the first of each month that will show-
case upcoming golf outings, social events, mer-
chandise and food specials and much more.
"Most importantly, our team's mission is to
'Create Enjoyment For Everyone We Serve' – we
want our customers to have a memorable experi-
ence that will continue to bring them back over and
over again," Bode said.
