BOOK A tee tiMe hOnOrs F or nearly a decade, Cynthia Gill has greeted guests as the first face they see upon entering Classic Club's stately clubhouse. It's just one of the Administrative Assistant's many duties for which she was named in December as 2018 Employee of the Year, beating out other nominees Oscar Vega from Maintenance and F&B's Shawn Diaz. We recently caught up with Cynthia to learn more… uuu what are your responsibilities? I help qualify and process guests for our Resident Program, as well as file and do data entry. I'm up front so people often think I'm the concierge. So I often answer questions and explain about our club. I also keep the lobby and fax room presentable while trying to remain observant. uuu how did you wind up working at classic club? Honestly, I was guided here. What gift this has been! uuu what do you enjoy most about your job? I like helping people and the organization it takes to keep everything flowing smoothly throughout the day. what's the most interesting part of your job? Interacting with the public. No two guests are alike. uuu what word best describes you? Kind, I hope. uuu what do you enjoy about working at a golf course? It's upbeat and fun. The young people help keep me young. uuu One thing people might be surprised to know about you? I'm working on a book, allegorically written. I believe that if you "Change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change." uuu what ran through your mind when you heard you won employee of the year? First of all, I couldn't believe it. I felt like others deserved it more. uuu to what do you attribute the award? I guess the most important aspect is remaining centered with a good outlook.
