F
or the third straight year,
Mountain Meadows Golf
Course in Pomona has been
selected as the L.A. County
Course of the Year – a notable
achievement for the American Golf-
managed Southern California track.
"I take a lot of pride in Mountain
Meadows Golf Course – this property
is very special, and our team is
incredible," General Manager Josh
McDonald said. "It is quite an
accomplishment to win the award for
three straight years. In my mind, it
means that we are doing things right,
and we will continue to elevate the
course conditions and customer
experience, which it turn makes
American Golf proud to have Mountain
Meadows Golf Course in its portfolio."
One of the participating courses in
the Players Club program that offers
members preferred rates, Mountain
Meadows was chosen from the county's
19 golf courses after a detailed process
that included monthly inspections by
an L.A. County assistant golf director,
followed by a visit from four judges to
play the course and evaluate the
facilities, and finally, a vote.
The award was announced at the
November 14 L.A. County Golf
Advisory Committee meeting, and
Mountain Meadows will receive a
plaque to display in the golf shop
alongside its previous awards.
McDonald said some of the things
that make Mountain Meadows stand
out are the excellent course conditions
– including some of the best greens in
the region – an emphasis on customer
service, and his staff's daily efforts to
establish relationships with golfers.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that the
6,440-yard course features majestic
mountain views and significant
elevation changes that give it a slope
rating of 131.
