Arizona's attractions ideal for summer vacationers
A
s far as summer vacation destinations go, you can't go
wrong with the Grand Canyon in Arizona with its host
of outdoor activities, abundance of nature and wildlife,
and the majestic views of steep canyons carved out over cen-
turies by the Colorado River.
One of the best ways to experience everything
the area has to offer is to visit the Grand Canyon
national Geographic Visitors Center, where
you can plan activities such as hiking, camp-
ing, horseback riding and skydiving, or book
helicopter, airplane and railway tours. You'll
find one of our Certified racks there, too, with
brochures for numerous opportunities to help
you explore many of the state's attractions.
And one thing you definitely won't want to miss at
the center is the IMAX theater, a six-story movie screen with sur-
round sound that allows visitors to experience the Grand
Canyon in a thrilling motion picture. You can read all about the
IMAX in this edition of the Insider, as well as another popular
Arizona attraction – Bearizona –a unique wildlife park in
Williams off Route 66. They're great places for a summer trip.
Finally, I'd like to congratulate our 2017 Anne Marie Fearn
Memorial Scholarship winners, announced in this issue. Seven
aspiring students have been selected to share $20,000 toward
their education and to honor the memory of our longtime chair-
man Anne Marie Fearn. We wish them all the best!
