But in order to understand the events from 2015 we first have to start back in 2005, when Chardonnay was purchased out of bankruptcy by Napa Golf Associates LLC. "During the course of the past nine-plus years, the facility downsized from 27 holes of golf with ap- proximately 100 acres of working vineyards to 18 holes of golf with approximately 150 acres of vineyards" said Roger Billings, General Manager at Chardonnay Golf Club. In February of 2015, Gus Gianulias and members of his family purchased the ownership interest of Ken Laird, and Gianulias was named the new Managing Partner of Napa Golf Associates LLC. "With this re-organization, Char- donnay Golf Club is poised to be an even better golf club than before, as additional revenues will be generated over the next few years that will help to fund necessary capital improve- ments of the facility," Billings said. Improvements to watch for in the coming years include cart path re- pairs and replacement, golf course ir- rigation enhancements, sand bunker renovations, new golf course mainte- nance equipment, solar power equip- ment to generate "green energy" to Chardonnay's golf cart recharge facil- ity, ongoing clubhouse renovations and improvements, and ongoing ex- pansion of the current vineyards blocks that will improve the aesthet- ics of the golf course. "Guests can expect to see contin- ued improvement in the condition- ing, playability and overall aesthetic look of the golf course," said Billings. "Additionally, clubhouse renovations will provide a more inviting and at- tractive feel to the restaurant and banquet facilities." The recent restructuring included the buyout of the long-term vineyard lease that was held by Bayview Vine- yards (a Ken Laird enterprise). A new vineyard management con- tract was entered into with Regusci Vineyard Management to handle the day-to-day maintenance and opera- tions of the vineyards that surround the golf course.
