I
don't know about you, but I can't wait for the course to
reopen this coming Saturday, Nov. 15 as we come out of
our annual fall rye grass overseed – a course-closing
process that started exactly one month ago this week.
What I'm looking forward to most over the com-
ing months — aside from our enviable weather
this time of year — is coming to work everyday
to a property considered among the best in the
Valley when it comes to course conditions.
And that is thanks in large part to the efforts
of our maintenance crew, who — along with
Bellatrix Restaurant Server Shannan Letendre
and Outside Services Associate Leonard Lujan — were
recently named Classic Club's Employees of the Quarter.
Under the watchful eye of Director of Agronomy Keith Ein-
wag, the maintenance crew works year round – in cool winter
weather and sizzling summer heat – to ensure Classic Club's
tees, fairways and greens remain in Tour-caliber condition.
So the next time you're enjoying a day on the golf course
and see the crew out there working, feel free to wave and say
hello. They're the ones who make it all possible.
